1. About Cafezin
Cafezin is a productivity app for writers, educators, and content creators. It includes a Markdown editor, a visual canvas, and built-in AI. The app runs locally on your device, with full desktop support today and mobile experiences under development.
Cafezin is developed and maintained by Pedro Martinez (support@pmatz.com), Brazil.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing, or using Cafezin, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Cafezin. If you are between 13 and 18, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian.
3. Plans and paid subscription
3.1 Free plan
Cafezin offers a free plan with all core editing and organization features, including the Markdown editor, visual canvas (tldraw), slides, built-in git, and unlimited workspaces. The free plan does not expire.
3.2 Paid plans
Cafezin's paid plans add access to built-in AI and other exclusive capabilities. Subscriptions are billed monthly via Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record for the transaction.
By subscribing to a paid plan, you also agree to the Paddle Terms.
3.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time using Paddle's customer portal, accessible from the account page on the site or through Settings -> Account in the app. After cancellation, paid access remains active until the end of the paid period, and no additional charges will be made.
3.4 Pricing changes
We may adjust the price of paid plans. Active subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any pricing change takes effect and will have the option to cancel without additional cost.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use Cafezin only for lawful purposes and you will not:
- Attempt to bypass or defeat licensing protections in the app
- Use the AI to generate illegal, hateful, discriminatory, or rights-violating content
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app without express permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app beyond what the law allows
- Use the app to interfere with third-party systems or commit fraud
5. Your intellectual property
Everything you create in Cafezin belongs to you. Cafezin claims no rights over your documents, files, ideas, or content created with the app. Your files stay on your device in plain Markdown format.
6. Cafezin intellectual property
The Cafezin app, including its source code, design, logo, name, and brand, is owned by Pedro Martinez. These Terms do not grant you any rights in Cafezin's intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the app as described here.
7. Availability and updates
Because Cafezin is a desktop app, it works locally and does not depend on constant connectivity. However:
- Some features, such as AI and account sync, require an internet connection
- We may update the app to fix bugs, improve features, or add new capabilities
- We may discontinue features with reasonable prior notice
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of connected services such as Supabase or the GitHub Copilot API, but we will take reasonable steps to keep the service stable.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Cafezin is provided "as is", without express or implied warranties of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
You use the app at your own risk. We strongly recommend keeping regular backups of your files.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pedro Martinez will not be liable for:
- Loss of data, profits, or revenue
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the app
- AI-generated content that is incorrect, harmful, or unsuitable
Our total liability, in any situation, will be limited to the amount paid by the subscriber during the previous 12 months.
10. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by Brazilian law, including the Consumer Defense Code (Law No. 8.078/1990) and the LGPD (Law No. 13.709/2018).
Any dispute will be submitted to the courts of São Paulo, SP, Brazil, unless mandatory consumer protection law requires another venue.
11. Changes to these terms
We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email and published on this page with an effective date. Continued use of Cafezin after that effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
